This meeting was conducted utilizing teleconferencing and electronic means consistent with Government Code Section 54953, as amended by Assembly Bill 361, in relation to the COVID-19 State of Emergency and recommended social distancing measures.

Vice Chair Mounarath called the meeting to order at 4:05 pm.

San Diego ART Matters Local Arts Agency Learning Network Capacity Building Program 

  

Designate Program Participant

Community Services Director Richardson informed the group that Chairperson Childress-Evans was unable to participate in the year-long program, therfore, Vice Chair Mounarath would be the designated participant for the Commission for the San Diego ART Matters Local Arts Agency Learning Network Capacity Building Program in addition to staff.

STAFF AND COMMISSIONER ANNOUNCEMENTS

  

Vice Chair Mounarath announced Newsies Jr. will be on November 8, at 7:00 PM. 

Commissioner Elliot mentioned that the new murals looked amazing at OctoberFest. His company will be running production for the Mission Hills Halloween event.

Commissioner Weiss Walter reminded commission of her art exhibit at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Encinitas until Dec 29 and with a panel discussion on October 19.

Community Services Director Richardson shared that she is in process of completing the Recreation and Park Master Plan, MacArthur Park Master Plan and working on the Artist to Work Program locations.

Senior Management Analyst Thompson provided details on the Skate Park Renovation Project meeting and encouraged commissioners to take survey. She also reviewed the La Mesa Rocks Fundraiser results.

Special Events Supervisor Aguilar shared an update on the Walkway of the Stars murals, Lemon Avenue Lot mural and Park Appreciation Day details.
