This meeting was conducted utilizing teleconferencing and electronic means consistent with Government Code Section 54953, as amended by Assembly Bill 361, in relation to the COVID-19 State of Emergency and recommended social distancing measures.

Chair Childress- Evans called the meeting to order at 4:03 PM.

If appropriate, the item will be referred to Staff or placed on a future agenda.

a. Collier Park Mural community paint day will begin on June 27, 2024.
b. Working on agreements for artists for Walkway of the Stars & Lemon Avenue.

Sr. Management Analyst Thompson provided information about the upcoming Art in the Park event on May 18, 2024.

Director Richardson announced that City Council provided ARPA funding for an upcoming Artists to Work Program. Staff will work on identifying public owned spaces for potential art installations. Commission will be asked to research RFP samples for calls for artists. 

Sr. Management Analyst Thompson announced an upcoming project for the La Mesita Skate Park feasibility study. Commission requested some sort of public art be included.

Commissioner Elliot attended a fundraiser event at Lions, Tigers and Bears.

Commissioner Mounarath's studio is putting on production of Willie Wonka May 17-19, 2024.

Commissioner Lindsay announced LMAC Gala on campus on May 30, and four students are finalists in Helix Water District art contest.

Chair Childress-Evans adjourned the meeting at 5:00 PM to the July 17, 2024 meeting, no meeting in June due to Juneteenth holiday.
